The Department of Social Justice, being the nodal implementing agency for welfare of Transgender community in Kerala, is bound to bring them to the mainstream of society and ensure that the rights of the Transgender population are protected. The Department has started a new scheme "Pratibha" which primarily aims to financially support the Transgender individuals who are willing to participate and showcase their talents in beauty pageants, body building competitions as well as arts and sports competitions. This scheme will empower the transgender individuals and increase their social acceptance.

Objectives

• To mainstream the transgender individuals by identifying their interests and talents in various sectors of arts, sports and body building competitions.

• To act as a helping hand for supporting the financially backward transgender individuals and empower them to set higher goals and reach for their dreams and increase their confidence level.

• To provide training thereby enhancing the talents and skills of Transgender individuals.

• To ensure Transgender participation and inclusiveness in all State, National and International competitions.
