The Department of Social Justice under Government of Kerala is providing educational assistance to children of prisoners belonging to BPL category. Assistance can be used for meeting expenses related to food, cloting, school fees, etc of the beneficiaries. The assistance will be directly made available to the bank account number of beneficiaries. Applicants must possess Joint bank account. The applications along with necessary supporting documents have to submitted online via Suneethi portal. (URL: suneethi.sjd.kerala.gov.in)

Criteria

1) Children below 5 years of age from Class 1 to Class 5 - Amount of assistance Rs. 300/- per month

2) Students from Class 6 to Class 10th- Amount of assistance Rs.500/- per month

3) Students in Plus one and Plus two- Amount of assistance Rs. 750/- per month

4) Students pursuing Degree/ Professional Courses- Amount of assistance Rs. 1000/- per month

5) Students pursuing Post Graduation, M.Phil Courses- Amount of assistance Rs. 1500/- per month
